On February 14, 2009 I left for Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with Journeys of Inspiration. This is where I left my cancer behind and JOI came into my life.
Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro
I was honored to climb with an amazing group of individuals all dedicated to fighting the fight against cancer one step at a time. One of my fellow climbers was Rick Cullinan. Rick lost his battle and will forever be an inspiration to me. I was again honored when we took Ricks ashes with us to the Grand Canyon — a place he had always wanted to hike.
